Peru has a rich ancient history that is fascinating. We all know about or have at least heard something of the Incas and their great civilization, but being in the place they lived and seeing some of their posterity who are still living in much the same way they have for many centuries and even millennia is an experience that cannot be replaced.
Of course Machu Picchu is probably the most famous of the tourist destinations in Peru. The ruins of this great land are awe inspiring and the surrounding area is absolutely breathtaking. No wonder they chose this site to build on! You can take tours that will lead you there through the diverse landscape and give you a chance to experience something of
Guided hikes through the Peruvian rainforest are another feature of Peru tourism. You can take the chance to see truly beautiful wild nature with a guide who will point out the wildlife to you and can tell you about the greenery and the healing properties of the various plant life you will come across.
If you are ready to see something a bit more metropolitan hitting Lima is your best bet. In this great city you will see spectacular cathedrals, gorgeous parks, like the Miraflores central park as well as many sites that can familiarize you with some of Peru’s ancient history such as the many museums.
By plane you can view the cryptic Nazca lines which are also an attraction of tourism in Peru. You can visit the Paracas Regional Museum to learn about the rich history. You will find robes, fossils and mummies as well as much more to give you a taste of the history of the area.
There are many other places to see. You can go swimming with sea lions and visit The Ballestas Islands where you can see seals, turtles and even penguins! Seeing these amazing creatures in their natural environment is a great way to experience them and see nature from a different perspective.
If you want to experience a country that has a rich history that has not all been relegated to the past, Peru tourism will help you to have that experience. You will experience a modern society and also get glimpses of a civilization as it was hundreds of year ago. It will be an experience never to be forgotten.
